Business Stuck and Needing a Breakthrough? Let Me Help You Find the Creative Energy and Clarity You Need
Long days, longer nights.
Every ounce of creative energy going into your job or your business idea.
No energy left for fun, for your spouse, your partner, your tribe.
More and more symptoms of stress showing up, constantly on edge, poor to no sleep, occasional racing heart beats, wrinkled brow (a lot), more emotional eating/drinking/bad habits than usual.
More thoughts of, “maybe I’m just not cut out for this. I want to do something exciting, fulfilling, meaningful, that I know is helping others and helping the world.”
Every entrepreneur or executive who ever lived has weathered periods where everything went wrong, they lost everything, the business stalled, or competitors started eating them for lunch.
Everyone successful has been there. (You’re not alone.)
I’ve been there. More than once.
And rare is the person going through tons of stress and strain without their health, sleep, energy, motivation, relationships, and life enjoyment suffering as well.
Been there too. More than once.
What would it mean to you if you could:
- reduce your stress
- feel more youthful dynamic energy again
- make progress on your business plan or your career goals
- feel the creative juice come back
- feel fit and strong
- be cash-flow positive
- gain strong new customers
- feel on top of the world?
I’ve had the satisfaction of marshaling my creative energy, supported by a healthy body, balanced emotions and sharp mind, to create the business breakthrough I needed, find the partners to align with, and especially, to find the mentors who could guide me, support me, keep me honest and accountable, and cheer for every success I have.
I believe I’ve created what you’ve been looking for.
A well-tested, integrated system for life and business success, guided by a mentor who has the scars to prove his theories are true (that would be me), and a support system to keep you thriving and growing in all areas of life.
I call it the Renaissance Business Growth System.
Where is your business or career at today?
- Still searching for focus and structure?
- Up and running but the hordes haven’t started buying yet?
- Stuck in a rut and worries are mounting?
- Had some recent setbacks after all that energy with the product launch?
- Wondering how to shift the needle, improve cash flow or finally see some profits?
Wherever your career or business is today, help is on the way. I know what it feels like to be spinning my wheels and dissatisfied in my job. I know what it feels like to have unused creativity inside me bursting to come out. I know the terror of risking everything for a major business venture, and then fearing total abject failure and shame. I know what it’s like to have hundreds and thousands of followers but still feeling I wasn’t making the kind of impact I wanted. I know the fear of literally not knowing how I was going to pay rent next month. And …. I know the exhilaration of watching people come into their creative power and create the life and business they’ve always wanted. That’s where I get my juice.
I hired Bruce as our company was going through a critical stage in our development. He brought a grounded process and a lightness of spirit that helped me prepare to transform our organization. Our firm’s mission of focusing on the impact we have with others first was aligned with how Bruce lives his life. If you want to improve yourself, Bruce is a great guide/mentor, if you want to improve your organization’s effectiveness – he brings a broad base of experience and a brilliant mind to support this focus as well. We are much better positioned to ‘Scale for Impact’ because of the time I was able to spend with Bruce and the support and insight he shared.

My Most Comprehensive, Integrated Work Ever
I’ve been coaching business leaders for more than twenty years. I’ve been mentoring entrepreneurs for nearly a decade. For nearly thirty years I’ve taught scientifically-based techniques for stress reduction and performance enhancement at Stanford University (22 years), Kaiser (15 years), major health systems, government agencies and some of the world’s largest and most profitable corporations.
My new program represents the culmination of three decades of work in performance, business, and health enhancement.
A brief story of how I got here
It’s 2009 and I’m working like crazy in service to a marvelous organization, HeartMath, where I’m CEO. I’m traveling all over the US and frequently Europe or Asia too, leading workshops, facilitating retreats, and guiding the company as it continues to grow through a tough economy. My health has been pretty good but some troubling symptoms start showing up. Typical guy, I rationalize them away and stay moving forward.
Finally I can’t ignore them. (Funny how life gets louder when you ignore the whispers.) I’m going through a series of tests when I get a call from my doctor, telling me, “Bruce you’ve got a tumor, and it’s definitely cancer.”
No way, not me. The “C” word, really? I’m feeling a mix of denial and fear, with a little bit of “I’ll get through this, I know I will” mixed in. I have an appointment with my new doctor who lays out the optimistic plan. Surgery, treatments over a couple years, and hopefully all will be well. I tell my doctor, “One thing is for sure, I’ll have a story to tell.” (I had no idea how true those words were.)
The next two years are a roller coaster of complications and side effects like staph infections (I find out it’s MRSA, the particularly scary kind of staph), which finally get into my blood, months of treatments, more uncomfortable procedures, and then a call from my brother that my mother has passed away. Now I’m reeling from the loss of my beloved mom, and meanwhile the pain of two arthritic hips is getting more extreme. Right before the memorial service my doctor older brother sits me down and says it’s time to get serious about the hip issues. Two months later I have the first hip replaced and three months after that, the other one.
During this time, being a pretty self-reflective guy my whole life, many deep questions are going on for me. As I prepare for the first hip surgery I realize I’m starting to feel optimistic again. I haven’t had any staph issues for more than a year, the treatments are going fine, and my cheerleader-style orthopedist, the amazing Dr James Hartford, is convinced I’ll be fit as a fiddle once I get the problem hip joints replaced by robots…. well, actually titanium implants.
As my optimism grows so does the awareness I’m needing and wanting to be more creative again. I miss singing, I miss dancing (actually haven’t been able to do that for several years), I miss having more free time to explore and create, and yes, to help others.
It’s time to go out on my own so I step down as CEO – which was like divorcing a family of my closest friends – and I enter a new world of just me. A massive life reinvention.
Now it’s a few months later and my energy and strength are starting to return.. I realize how much I enjoy strategizing and brainstorming and coaching and mentoring others. Especially leaders, visionaries, entrepreneurs. Clients find out I’m available and I start working with a number of visionary organizations and entrepreneurs eager to tap my brain, my heart and my network.
Over the next several years I allow my creative juices free rein! I start performing again with my creative partner, the amazing Emmy-award winning composer and visionary Gary Malkin, I start dancing again (watch out you haters, I’ve got titanium hips!) My photography starts getting noticed for the wondrous landscapes and sunrises and sunsets that seem to find me.
My creative superpower is coming back online. And boy this feels amazing!
I begin to share some of what I learned on this journey of shock and recovery with others. Stanford loves the idea and asks me to create a course called “Creativity as Your Personal Well-Being Strategy” and off we go.
I call the process I went through, Renaissance Human, and let people know that while my story may sound somewhat dramatic, actually everyone has an infinite supply of creative energy built into who they are.
Everybody. No exceptions.

Strategy and Leadership Development Right on the Mark
Bruce is an excellent strategic consultant and leadership coach. He supported my efforts to conduct a strategic turnaround at a “challenged” branch of an IT services organization. His work included development and implementation of an extremely effective intervention plan that included team building, leadership coaching, training, and overall strategic support – using both HeartMath tools as well as business processes and tools. He is a master at communicating and building trusting relationships. He thinks strategically as well as tactically, and helped us achieve tremendous marketplace success. I’d recommend his work to any organization going through change or challenge.

What if you found a mentor to help you uplevel everything?
Humbly speaking, you found him. If I’m right for you.
There’s no question I have a unique background:
Broadway actor/singer/dancer, 20+ years teaching at Stanford, consultant to Fortune 50 corporations and acclaimed health care systems, cancer survivor, double hip replacement survivor, salmonella and shingles survivor, executive in eight-figure innovative businesses, entrepreneur!
It’s a life story that uniquely qualifies me to serve your many needs.
Let’s face it: you’re not just a visionary, sometimes struggling entrepreneur, coach, or executive.
You’re also a mom or a dad, a son or a daughter, a brother or a sister.
You have interests in sports, health, the arts, gardening, politics, social activism, spirituality.
You’re a complete human being but sometimes, especially when you’re stressed, you’re not tapping into all that juice and smarts you have inside.
That’s where I come in.
She found the mentor she needed
When I met Bruce, I’d been searching for a mentor with the requisite level of consciousness and capacity to hold the size of the vision I’d received. With 30+ years’ business experience, a level of magnetism that’s attracted an exceptional network and a deep appreciation for beauty, creativity and flow, Bruce remains the ideal mentor and collaborator for me. I appreciate his ability to listen without judgment, to make me feel safe to explore my deepest soul levels and to be playful when fresh creativity is needed. Thank you Bruce – I couldn’t do it without you!
Anna Margolis, Conscious Revolutionary and Mentee
This is the most comprehensive personal growth and business success strategy program I’ve ever seen (completely unbiased comment).
Powered by the award-winning HeartMath tools and technology, inspired by the Renaissance Human model I developed after recovering from my harrowing two year health journey, and built on more than 35 years of diverse business experience.
I know you have tons of creative energy untapped inside yourself already, and will soon have access to an unlimited supply once we get a few of the blocks out of the way.
High Level Skeptic happy to be proved wrong
Bruce approached me at BusinessWeek in the mid-90s asking how to take HeartMath forward with big companies. I loved the technology but I was skeptical: He proved me wrong and I’m so glad he did. Congratulations to Bruce & his team.

Can you say more about Renaissance Human?
The word “renaissance” literally means rebirth, or to be born again. For the past hundred years or so, people who were multi-talented in contrasting fields, such as law and classical music, or medicine and oil painting, were sometimes called “renaissance man” or “renaissance woman”. After my health journey started to calm down, I realized that at my core I am a deeply creative person. I love to sing, to dance, to garden, to take photos, to write, to create in every way I can imagine.
I have come to see life as a series of births. We give birth to new parts of ourselves throughout life. Some is mainly physical and emotional, like puberty. Others are creative like landing a first job in a company you have no experience in. Others are realizing the fire has gone out on that career and something new is waiting in the wings to consume your passion and your fire.
We continue to go through new births throughout our life unless we stagnate like a swamp, and become convinced we are the victim of our life, not the creator of it.
What used to be called “a phase” or a “mid-life crisis” is the coming to birth of new talents, new skills, new ways of thinking that we didn’t have before. We are creators of our life. Wow!
Here’s the really big idea:
We are all born with the biggest creative talent imaginable:
the power to create life.
Since that power is designed into our DNA, how could we ever say we are not creative? Unfortunately many of us were told by parents, teachers, siblings or bosses to curb our creative energy, that it would be better if we didn’t sing or dance or write poetry or paint, or in the workplace we’re told to “stay in your lane” and not try to do someone else’s job.
So the vital energy that lives and breathes inside us gets stifled and repressed.
Some of us get sick.
For many of us, we lose belief that we are creative at all. We lose hope that life will have excitement, that we could have fun solving problems, or creating new businesses or products.
It’s my mission to awaken the creative energy in every human being
because it’s what we’re made of, it’s where much of our
deepest fulfillment comes from, and it holds the key to create a
balanced, optimal, ageless life and a business that
can adapt and create and make impact and be profitable
and provide fulfillment for us for years to come.
Your business, your career, needs you operating from your most creative, dynamic self. Not because you’re necessarily destined to be the next Da Vinci or Meryl Streep or Stevie Wonder or William Shakespeare, but you are designed to create the most fulfilling, wondrous, exceptional life than you can even imagine.
Be yourself. Everyone else is already taken. – Oscar Wilde
What’s next big guy?
If you’re still reading this, you’re obviously intrigued. Maybe it’s because of how broad and deep my program is. Got me there, I’ve realized all the business strategy and funnels and social media in the world won’t bring us a healthy life when we’re stressed out of our minds. And those strategies and tactics don’t have the same power to work when we’re operating at a stress deficit, where we’re spending more energy than we replenish.
